How Much Does a Website Cost in Mexico in 2026? Real Prices and What’s Included

It is the question we hear most, and the short answer is: a professional business website in Mexico costs between $5,000 and $20,000 MXN, depending on how many sections you need and which features you want. This guide explains where that range comes from so you can compare quotes with confidence.

The 3 types of website and their approximate price

What a professional website should include

Two quotes with the same price can be very different. Before deciding, confirm your website includes:

  • Domain and hosting (and who owns the domain: it should be your company).
  • SSL certificate (the browser padlock). Without it, Google flags your site as “not secure”.
  • Mobile-friendly design. Most of your visitors will arrive on a phone.
  • Basic technical SEO: titles, descriptions, speed and Google Search Console setup.
  • WhatsApp button and contact form that actually reach you.
  • Email on your domain (sales@yourcompany.com), which builds far more trust than a free address.
  • Support after launch, even if just for one month.

Tip: make sure the domain is registered in your name. If the provider disappears and owns the domain, you lose your web address and your email.

Costs that repeat every year

Development is a one-time payment, but some services renew annually:

  • .com or .com.mx domain: usually $300 to $900 MXN per year.
  • Hosting: from around $1,000 MXN per year for an informational site; more for online stores or high traffic.
  • Maintenance (optional): content updates, backups and improvements.

Why some websites cost much more

Price goes up when a site needs custom features: online payments, booking, private areas, integration with your inventory system or a properly built bilingual version that ranks in Spanish and English. It also depends on whether the design is template-based or fully custom, and whether the provider writes the copy and handles the SEO strategy.

Be careful with “free” or very cheap websites

Free builders are fine to get started, but they usually come with limits: a domain carrying the builder's brand, slow loading, ads and limited SEO. And a very cheap site can end up expensive if it doesn't work on mobile, doesn't show up on Google or your forms never arrive. The right question isn't how much it costs, but how many customers it will bring you.

How to choose the right provider

  1. Ask to see real websites they built and check them on your phone.
  2. Require a written proposal with what's included and delivery times.
  3. Ask who will own the domain and the site.
  4. Confirm what support you get after launch.
